In Brazil strategies committed to preventing and combating feminicide have been implemented. Many of them are created or have the participation of public security institutions. At the same time, it has been paid little attention to understanding the behaviour of these professionals in their own families. Research findings from several countries have shown how these agents sometimes use their power and/or police knowledge to coerce their family members. Based on newspaper articles this paper analyses 28 cases of women who were fatal victims of their public security partners during the year 2021 in Brazil. Analysis pointed out that: (a) in half of the cases after the femicide, the officer committed suicide; (b) the existence of a current or previous affective bond between the aggressor and the victim; (c) the use of firearms in the majority of the deaths; and (d) part of the cases mentioned previous inmate partner violence.
