This paper proposes to study the concrete determinations of feminicide as a social phenomenon in Brazil, particularly for João Pessoa-PB. Feminicide stands out as the highest expression of the violence committed against women inherent in the patriarchal culture historically intrinsic to Brazilian society, expressly affecting thousands of women daily and presenting alarming rates, even with Law 13,140 / 2015 in force, criminalizing this typology of violence. misogynist violence. However, it is emphasized that the Law will only be successful with Public Policies that prioritize the confrontation of gender violence by states. The work is about bibliographic research results based on documentary and field research and statistical surveys. In order to analyze the profiles of femicides and the specifications of femicide crimes, we use the legal records of women deprived of their liberty, present in the archives of the maximum security penitentiary Sílvio Porto and Criminalist Geraldo Beltrão, both located in João Pessoa -PB.
