The search for access to justice is part of the social transformations that have occurred in society, as well described by the periods called “renewal waves”. However, some obstacles are faced along the way in the pursuit of this Justice. This article aims to show the importance of the Legal Practices Center of the Law School of Contestado University for the Canoinhas County / SC, as a guarantee instrument of this principle. In this tuning fork, the users served by the nucleus are economically underprivileged and require assistance in the civil area, as well as answers to legal questions to be solved by students and a lawyer teacher, mentor teacher. The research aims to collect information from the University of Contestado NPJ, Campus Canoinhas / SC, which acts approximately 10 years with the Law Course, as well as ascertaining its performance and core perception of the user community, and their respective contribution to the formation of the academics, future operators of the law. In this sense, the research was exploratory, as the application of questionnaires to academics and clients in order to verify the performance as well as confirm if the NPJ allowed the contemplation of access to justice in the local community through the proposed actions, and also, documentary regarding the analysis of all procedural records promoted from 2002 to 2016.
